Terms of Use
Last updated 2 November 2026. Please read these terms carefully — by using QuickAds you agree to them.
1. Who we are
QuickAds ("QuickAds", "we", "us") operates the classifieds website at quickads.co.za. Our full business and contact details are set out on our Legal & supplier information page, published in line with section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 (ECTA).
2. QuickAds is a venue, not the seller
QuickAds is an online platform that lets users post and browse classified adverts. We are an intermediary: we do not own, sell, inspect, or take possession of any item advertised, and we are not a party to any transaction between a buyer and a seller. Any contract of sale is between those users directly. As a host of user-generated content we rely on the protections afforded to service providers under Chapter XI of ECTA.
3. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to post an advert or hold an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything done under your account.
- You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.
4. Rules for adverts
When you post an advert you warrant that you own or are entitled to sell the item, that your advert is accurate and lawful, and that you have the right to share any images or text you upload.
You may not post content that:
- is obscene, pornographic, or sexual in nature;
- depicts or promotes graphic or gratuitous violence;
- constitutes hate speech, or incites harm, discrimination or violence against any person or group;
- harasses, threatens, defames or otherwise causes harm to others;
- advertises stolen goods, illegal drugs, unlawful firearms or weapons, counterfeits, endangered species or any other item whose sale is prohibited by South African law; or
- infringes anyone's intellectual-property, privacy or other rights.
Dealers and business sellers must comply with their own obligations under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 and, where applicable, the Second-Hand Goods Act, 2009.
5. Moderation, review and takedown
To keep QuickAds safe we screen adverts automatically and may hold an advert for review before it is published, decline it, or remove it at any time if we believe it breaches these terms or the law. Anyone can report an advert using the “Report this ad” link on every listing, and we operate a notice-and-takedown process in line with ECTA. Removal decisions are at our discretion and do not entitle you to a refund of any promotion fee where the advert breached these terms.
6. Paid services
Basic listings are free, subject to a per-account quota. Optional paid services — promoting a listing and dealer accounts — are described with their prices on the Legal & supplier information page. Prices are in South African Rand. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act and ECTA, including any applicable cooling-off right, are not affected by these terms.
7. Staying safe and avoiding scams
Always meet in a public place, inspect an item before you pay, and never send a deposit to someone you have not met. QuickAds is not responsible for the conduct of any user or the quality, safety or legality of any item advertised.
8. Liability and indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, QuickAds is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the platform or from any dealing between users. You indemnify QuickAds against any claim arising from an advert you post or your breach of these terms.
9. Privacy
We process personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time; the current version always appears on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
